When I was a kid, my mom had a loaded 85 Tempo GLX, “Medium Regatta Blue” with a similar interior. It was an odd late run build car that had a factory installed CHMSL and a 1986 style steering wheel (I learned many details about early Tempos). Never seen another like it. It had virtually every option. It stayed in the family until 1999, at that time it had ~190K miles, and my mom let it go.

They weren’t terrible little cars - just not very exciting and I thought kinda overpriced for what they were.

We owned a Mercury Topaz for about a month (was given to us, we didn’t buy it). It ran thrice for us, and never on consecutive days. The car had less than 90K miles, the engine less than 60K. It had numerous electrical gremlins and some bad brakes that we replaced. We gave up when the rusty brake line to the right rear finally broke during brake service. Her parents (who had given it to us) didn’t want the car anymore as they had two cars, one brand new. We decided that our 180K-mile Saturn (the junkier of our 2 cars) was in better condition and sold it for scrap.
I am not fond of Ford Tempos.
